ok,here we go,just for lulu i am going to make a effort this week to join in with blog-land a little more!!!!
So its october half term,a magical time of year .
The kids have a week off school,which at first seems like bliss due to the fact that lay ins are to be had by all lol,however by halfway thru the week the constant argueing is intolerable!!!!
Anyway day two and they are still behaving which is good!!
I plan t do an activity a day with them to keep them occupied so tommorow i think i`ll start with some leaf finding,then bring the leaves home and do some wax rubbings then maybe paaint the leaves afterwards and see what the lads come up with.,later on in the week we are going to go to bridlington overnight so that my stressed out hubby can sit in the habour early morning watching the fishing boats come in,he says that for him there is nothing more relaxing,im looking forward to it too.

well its been a while!

Ive been busy you see!!

since we are setting up our party entertainment business i thought that i should learn to do some balloon modelling,just a few doggys and swords.....

However,after watching a dvd by a wonderful man called david grist,i kinda ended up doin a christmas tree ,a wreath,a santa in his sleigh and a rudolf!!!

i thought considering the fact that prior to that night i had never even blown up a modellin ballon,well im pretty damn proud of myself!!!

went to the car boot today for first time in ages and bagged myself a cpl of bargains!!!
firstly spotted some paper craft magazines recent ones-50p each so bought 5 of those....then found a 12x12 paper stack,not the most gorgeous papers i have to say and lots of them were plain.but textured :)
and for ONLY £1 how can i complain....THEN there was a fabby little light box for 75p!!!
so me thinks i should start going again every week!!!!

I`ve been wanting a new baby kitty for a while and the last few days the feeling was getting stronger and stronger,not that we dont already have enough pets...lol!!

Any way i went out and came back with this little sweetie...she`s only four weeks old so little too young to be away from her mummy but her mummy wasnt too bothered abut the feeding ect and she has started weaning very well,i have named her smokie...i`m not 100% sure that she is a she and not a he so smokie would suit either!

yesterday she was very nervous but todayshe has begun to explore more and has just started to play a bit x

this is my card for `this thursday challenge` which is winged things.
i have used a tea bag folded butterfly and a lovely dreamy verse which i have layered and inked the edges of, i have doodled some swirly flowers using sakura gel pens and added micro glitter and gem flowers ,then finished off with deep pink ribbon.

funky fairy paper piecing challenge

This weeks challenge at funky fairys was set by jozza,

`for this weeks challenge I would like people to use paper piecing.`

So here is my interpretation.......

the background is made up of various funky fairy papers using a paper piecing method called serendipity where all the pieces of paper are torn up and stuck together,you can then cut the fininshed aticle up and use them as smaller accents on a project,i`ve chosen to use mine as a backing sheet.
funky fairy stamped image has a dress made from a doodlementals printed sheet,then ive used some funky fairy alpha tags for the greeting . Its a rather busy card,but not everyone likes simple!!!

I went to car boot sale last week,havent been for ages,any way i got a large tub full of buttons for 50p there must be over 150 of them,so i decided to do somethng with them, started off with a 12x12 pink paper and then added the word cute,then it jusrt occured to me..... aah cute as a button!

funky fairy stamped challenge

The challenge this week was set by Lou and she has asked us to make a card/layout using no backing papers whatsoever! All backgrounds must either be stamped, inked, painted or chalked (for example) and any topper or embellishment must also be made using a rubber stamped design/image. The sentiment as well should be stamped and not printed from the computer or a rub-off. The only concession to paper/card that will be made, is for matting and layering purposes only.

A) The first is easy! it would have to be ex eastender sean maguire!!

well....

the comedian Duncan norvelle from the 80s mainly and of `chase me` fame lives just up the road from us and can be found in his wifes funiture shop most days which is literallyt 2 mins walk from our house,we often say hi duncan!

and stan richards `seth ` from emmerdale lived not far away and we used to go in the pub that he also drunk in

also,charlie williams`ey up mi flower`used to come in the bingo hall which me and darron used to work in and av a good game of bingo with his wife!

plus england cricketer darren gough was in my school and his sister andrea was in my year.

i made a wand type thing using a mixture of funky fairy products,i gave the wand to a little girl who lives across the rd and she seemed to like it!!!

The stick of the wand is made from a sturdy cardboard tube,covered with papers from the do ya doodles range.

anyway,i decided to mark the date by making 11 cards to send to her favorite charity which she used to make cards for in order to help them raise money,i recieved a letter of thanks saying that they had almost all been sold,i only made 11 because it signifys her age,but i may make some more at xmas for them,

Been up the allotment today and spent a couple of hours digging out some beds,i had forgotten how peaceful and de-stressing spending time with nature is! after briony died the allotment was my escape..away from the door,the phone,people ect,it really helped me,but as my confidence grew through the year i havent needed it plus its been cold!
but im definatly going to spend some time up there again this year.especially as there is only 2weeks till the anniversary! as shaz as already announced ive been busy creating my fund in briony`s memory

Just done my mums card for mothers day,i stuck a peel off on acetate and painted it with glass paints,i stamped a background on pearlised card using individual leaf and flower stamps,then layered it up onto card and added tags and stuff x

this weeks challenge was `photos`so i made a concertina mini scrapbook featuring my daughter briony using the new `do ya doodle`kit from funky fairy.it`s a fantastic,fun,colourful and exciting kit and i love it x

mine was definatly chatting to my mum,totally engrossed in the conversation and trying to walk up a moving elevator-which was moving downwards!!! we didnt even realise at first and just kept attempting to get back on!!!! i`m laughing now just thinking about it!!!!! anyway we ended up losing our balance and falling over,then we realised what we had tried to do and were laughing so hard that we couldnt get up!!!!! trouble was it was in a crowded market hall and people were staring at us!!!!!

well heres something a little different,be it a good thing....who knows!!! this weeks challenge over at funky fairys challenge blog was set by andrea,the challenge was this....

Create a papercrafted item incorporating a winged thingy, It could be a Funky Fairy, Butterfly, Angel, Cherub ( do cherubs have wings?) etc.... but it has to be the main focal point of the item.

i had lots of thoughts on this but nothing really made me inspired enough to do it,then my hubby said,you aught to do a paper aeroplane,thats a winged item! i thought it over and decided to go with it,it can be used as a card if u wish, you could put a greeting in the middle! its something different and ive added a likkle funky fairy,also with wings!!!!

funky fairy is now selling a brand new range of rubber stamps!!! all designed by shaz her self!!!! they are fabby with a capital `F` this set is called build-a-flower!!! its a stroke of genius to be honest!!!! u get 2 different centres,then a choice of petals,3 of which are featured in this card.the possibilitys are endless and with everyone wanting large flowers at the minute...well what are ya waitin for!!!! check em out here

found this bit of fun on scrapbook mamas blog,i`m guessing my name wasnt exactly top of the list on their data base!!!!!!! but never the less the clever thing managed to match me to the meaning in 5 seconds flat!!!! alot of it is accurate,but then again i giuess it would fit lots of people,its wrong in that it says im having too much fun t settle down,,,,i wish!!!!
and that it says i`m easy going,i guess i used to be but,.....well ya know stress n upset n ...bla di blah...!!!!!!!!!! anyhow the link is attatched to it so why not give it a go!!!!!

This weeks challenge which will be our first challenge of the year is ..............................................
An altered item using funky fairy products :)You may use items from the free section as well,as long as they are 'funky fairy' it doesnt matter wether they were purchased or free :) Will make a change from cards!
Anyone can join in the challenge...just leave a comment with a link to your creation :)
The altered item can be anything that you wish...an album,clipboard,tin,jar,cornflake box,toilet roll holder...lol Anything at all :)

i started off with 4 toilet roll tubes!!!

and turned it into this pretty desk tidy x

i also made a pretty sleeve for my glue

and one for the spatula and pencil!!!

i dont feel the piccys do it justice as it looks very pretty on my desk!

well what can i say? 2007,it has been a monkey i`ll say that....but not sure i`ll be glad to see the back of it as at least briony was physically part of it!! it seems such a long year hard to believe that first 2 months of it briony was still having chemo,and running around so full of life,a year ago as now she was looking forward to starting nursery and she managed it for a fewweeks too x how much water has passed since then???? its scary!!!

i didnt know what a blog was either!!!! now its second nature!!!

anyway,good-bye 2007 you wont be forgotten in a hurry xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

hi all x hope u all had a lovely time over christmas x

i found it hard for obvious reasons but nice too...especially since i got my new laptop!!! yes its goodbye to the whirring and incessant groaning of the old pc,no more constant shutting down of its own accord in the middle of business!!!

I went to hobbycraft sale too today and got lots of bargains x

including lots of handmade paper packs reduced to 99p each for 12 sheets!! and embellishments a plenty,also `anitas` goody packs worth £30 for only £9.99 and 12x12 tote storage bags reduced from £14.99 to only£4.99 WOW!!!,i find these are perfect for storing scrapbooks in progress,especially since each one comes with 5clear storage pockets which can be removed!!!

i made the descision to turn half of my daughter brionys bedroom into my craft space,so that i can feel close to her while crafting,plus this would mean i could actually get in bed beacause my craft things would no longer be blocking my path!!!
however this is not an easy task because first i have to sort out some bits of brionys which can be moved into storage and then move 2 big desks from our attic bedroon downstairs to brionys room,so all this is work in progress so bit by bit is the order of the day with it!!!!

the group will close at 20 members so there may just be time to get on board~~~
well hi to the sisters! my name is meayla,i`m 27 married and have 3 children,blake who`s 10,tommy who`s 5 and briony who would have been 4 last week had she not become an angel in march this year aged 3,after a 2yr battle against deadly childhood cancer named neuroblastoma.
you will find that i talk about briony very much,so as to keep her memory alive..hey she was too special a person to not remember lots!!!

2007 was not a brilliant year for me,
as you know my beautiful daughter died
after a 2yr battle with cancer,
and this time of year is quite hard,
as she would have been 4 on sunday 16th x

but heres to a brighter 2008!!!

joannes challenge this week is to make a valentines card however...NO red or pink,any text but NOT LOVE ,any image but NO HEARTS or FLOWERS

and NO RUDE ones!!!

it seemed an exciting challenge and i couldnt wait to get stuck in,........HOWEVER,it wasnt as easy as it seemed and made me realise that i seem to rely on certain colours to make cards!!! i ended up using colours that i dont like at all!!!

so i may post another entry as i`m not at all happy with this one!!!!!

today i spotted a job in the local paper for an assistant in a craft shop just part time,you had to apply i writing and deadline is tommoro....so i composed a letter,popped it in post special delivery to make sure it arrives!! and now just waiting and hoping for at least an interview!

this is my card for andreas challenge.
i used all the items as follows,
card blank,
2 sheets of backing paper[ho ho ho and lime green-from colxmas daze]
1 motif[snowman from colxmas daze]
1 word of text-snow from colxmasdaze
2 brads sparkly ones fixed on text piece
3 flowers fixed on ho ho ho paper AND 1 piece of ribbon [the snowman can be pulled out if required using the ribbon!
-oh yeah and i worked on the assumption that scissors,and double sided tape could be used!!!!!!!!!!

not in the best of moods today! my `beloved` 3yr old boxer dog ruby with her new side kick,9 week old staffy cross belle,have chewed to bits my favorite ever rubber stamp! it is or was.. a 4 sided stamp with baby hand prints and footprints on!! i`m sickened! i got it off of create and craft last year and after looking on their website they dont seem to stock it any more!! even looked on my second home..ebay..and no luck! i`ve kinda stuck it back together,once i found all the pieces!!
